Hard Drive Problems... - 2006/10/01 21:50
I've been looking every where for an answer to my problem, but the fourms at the site that I usually go to is really slow. So what happened is I was playing the new Hitman game, and it crashed a bunch of times on me, so I update it, then it dosn't work, then I reinstall it and it works, crashes and my computer BSOD's, I did not get the error code, forgot to change that in the settings. And steam works just after I install it, and once I log out and try to start it it says its missing a file!
Then I tryed Seatools on my hard drive, becasue about 3 months ago a dieing hard drive was causing me greif, so I scan it, the drive its self (sectors) is fine, but I got this when I scanned the NTFS file system on it:
Here is what the Sea Tools log says:
Partition 1 (NTFS) 160GB Result: Failed with critical errors.
The following errors were found while scanning the Index: -One or more errors were found in the index -One or more errors were found in the metadata file records -Other errors were found
Any Ideas? Should I just back up my information, get a program to whipe the hard drive and reinstall windows?
Thanks! Bryan
