Rootkit adware - 2008/09/02 03:43 [b] Does anyone know how I can remove the Rootkit adware from my computer. I have had the free Avast antivirus system installed since last Thursday. It is a very good system and has cleaned out a great many things I didn`t know I had on my computer. The only thing it can`t seem to get rid of is this Rootkit.
I am a senior and, although I am fairly good at working the computer, this sort of thing isn`t part of my expertise. Could this thing be removed in my home, or will I have to take it into the store to be dealt with? I am loath to pull out all the plugs, as I am worried I won`t remember where they went, apart from the fact if I get down on the floor to reach all these things, I find it difficult to get up, much less see where all the plug-ins are.
I would be grateful for any helpful comments, please. Thank you.
